Repair Technician

Role

As a Repair Technician (also known as Instrument Repair Specialist, Onsite Mobile Repair Technician), you'll perform basic to intermediate inspection and repairs on surgical instruments. You'll use a variety of tools, including grinding wheels, buffing wheels, and soldering equipment. Your role is crucial to ensuring that surgeons can focus on providing the best care for their patients. You'll primarily work within a repair lab, but occasionally on a mobile repair truck.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of work experience, including at least 1 year of relevant experience. Relevant experience can include hands-on repair, assembly, product testing, use of small hand tools, small engine repair, cell phone and electronics repair, testing or re-builds, carpentry, circuit board assembly and repair, sterile processing, industrial sewing, and jewelry repair. Maintenance, construction, and automotive repair are also relevant.
  • Must be able to meet flexible schedules with early/late hours and occasional overnight/out of state travel, pass a DOT medical/physical exam, comply with all DOT regulations, have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, and be at least 21 years old. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and push instrument carts ranging from 10-150 pounds at times. Must be compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirements.
