Maintenance Utilities Specialist

Role

As a Maintenance Utilities Specialist (also known as Maintenance Technician, Industrial Maintenance Specialist), you'll operate and maintain utilities to support plant manufacturing equipment. This includes boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and auxiliary equipment. You'll need a comprehensive understanding of utilities processes and electrical/controls, as well as mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic knowledge. You'll also be tasked with troubleshooting and performing repairs on electro-mechanical equipment.

Qualifications
  • 2-year Industrial Electrical Degree or 1-2 years’ equivalent experience in an industrial environment.
  • 2-4 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician or Industrial Maintenance, with a focus on electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Knowledge in pneumatics, blue/schematic print reading (mechanical/electrical), welding, using shop equipment, and fabrication. Familiarity with AC and DC drives and PLC’s is preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklift and high-lift equipment, with welding experience being a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, basic computer skills, and the ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
