Production Operator - Plastic Extrusion

Role

As a Co-Extrusion Operator (also known as Equipment Technician, Production Machine Operator), you'll be responsible for the installation, alteration, repair, maintenance, and adjustment of all machinery and equipment used in the co-extrusion lines. This includes auxiliary equipment as well. You'll also be tasked with operating extruders, dies, feedblocks, and other downstream accumulation equipment, controlling temperature, pressure, screw speed, winder, and meeting customer specifications. Additionally, you'll have the responsibility for start-up, shutdown, cleaning of equipment, and maintaining process and production records.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in operating extruders and other downstream equipment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and basic understanding of coex materials operation.
  • Ability to control temperatures, pressure, and line speed to maintain process and meet customer specifications.
  • Experience with calipers and micrometers, injection molding machine, and measurement gauges.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift, perform simple mathematical calculations, and use a computer functionally.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to occupational hazards.
