Integration Engineer II (PLC; Baggage Handling Systems)

Role

As an Integration Engineer II (also known as Automation Engineer, Controls Engineer), you'll be a key player in airport baggage handling systems. Your role will involve understanding and managing mechanical, electrical, logistical, and software interactions based on sound engineering principles. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting and modifying programmable logic controls (PLCs), coding from scratch, control panel design, and project follow-through. You'll also serve as the primary point of contact for all project communication and technical requirements, collaborating with Project Management, engineering leadership, and other internal stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation, specifically with PLC and coding (Allen-Bradley and Siemens preferred).
  • Experience in airport baggage handling systems (BHS).
  • Ability to manage a team of controls engineers and/or vendors as a team lead or supervisor.
  • Physical ability to remain stationary for up to 50% of a shift/work hours and walk airports and plants, remaining standing for most of the shift.
  • Proficiency in PLC Troubleshooting, Mechanical Troubleshooting, PLC Programming, PLC Wiring, and Leadership/People Management.
  • BSEE, E.T. or relevant technical degree and AutoCAD experience, especially electrical, are preferred.
